Sharon Township is unique in that it pays real estate property tax on a portion of its township hall.  Approximately, 1,000 square foot of the 8,000 square foot township hall is leased to Call Insurance.  The rental income is sufficient to pay all utilities (water/sewer, natural gas, electricity, Internet, telephone) plus office and carpet cleaning, building repairs and improvements.

As a result of the rental income, no taxes are needed to maintain the township hall.  The Fiscal Officer periodically presents a status report to the Board of Trustees.
